Japanese Wellness Diets

wellness.jpgDo you know that a lot of Japanese men and women can reach the age of 100 or more? They owe it to the kind of diet they maintain. Do you know the secrets behind Japanese wellness diets? The perhaps it’s high time that you read the following information:

1. They eat their meals in small portions. You will probably seldom see the Japanese people downing several layers of burgers. This is because they are not used to eating large chunks of food. Rather, they would eat them in small portions. This then allows their body to digest their food more effectively. Moreover, they can easily feel a full stomach. Keep in mind that it actually takes 20 minutes for the brain to tell the stomach that it already has enough food stored. If you eat too fast, then by the time 20 minutes is up, you have already eaten a lot.

2. They spend more on their breakfast than any other meal. As they say, the most important wellness meal of the day is breakfast. There’s a huge period wherein your stomach has nothing else. Breakfast allows you to store up the energy that you need for the rest of the day. You can skip lunch and take a very light dinner, but you can never forego with breakfast. Furthermore, skipping on breakfast will just jeopardize your metabolism, and you will have the tendency to compensate what you feel is lacking in your lunch or dinner.wellness_health

3. They would rather walk or bike. Japan is known to be one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, but a lot of the locales would prefer to walk or ride a bike. Besides, they have plenty of beautiful sceneries, which makes walking a small tour to appreciate nature. Brisk walking is a wonderful exercise that even 20 minutes of walk can already burn a good amount of calories. It&rsquos the same thing with biking. To add to that, most of the old structures in Japan&mdashand there are many&mdashdon&rsquot have escalators and elevators. Thus, they are forced to go up and down the stairs.

4. They eat less meat. Have you ever been to a Japanese restaurant? You will discover that they seldom have meat dishes in their menu. The Japanese would love to gobble on vegetables, fish, and fruits. They also prefer tea over coffee, which can sometimes be too addicting and high in sugar. When they are eating noodles, they would not pair them with rice. Hence, they don&rsquot go overboard with their carbohydrates. They also love to eat fish, most notably those that are rich in fatty omega acids. These are great for the brain and the heart.

5. They don't go on a diet. Well, most of the Japanese women, especially those who are already Westernized or gesundheitsratgeber, may have one; but in general, they would rather settle for a well-balanced meal than to starve themselves.

Their overall wellness cannot be attributed to their diet alone. The Japanese are one of the very few who believe in oneness of the spirit, mind, body, and nature. They take it upon themselves to feel happy and contented.
